May Allah raise the rank of our Prophet Muhammad, and that of his family and companions, and may He grant them all peace.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SOURCE:<\/strong> <em>Fataawaa al-Lajnah ad-Daa&#8217;imah<\/em>, (10\/78 of the first compilation), translated by Moosaa Richardson.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOOTNOTES by the Translator:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[1] This indicates that the ruling is different for obligatory acts of charity, like <em>Zakaat al-Maal<\/em> and <em>Zakaat al-Fitr<\/em>. Remember, the ruling on the <em>Udhiyah<\/em> Sacrifice is that it is highly recommended, not obligatory. Therefore, it is categorized as an &#8220;optional act of charity&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>[2] This means when a Muslim country is in a state of openly declared war with another country, the non-Muslims of the country at war are not to receive any charitable acts during that war.
