{"id":2733,"date":"2013-05-22T19:56:15","date_gmt":"2013-05-22T19:56:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bakkah.net\/en\/?p=2733"},"modified":"2021-09-02T22:32:21","modified_gmt":"2021-09-03T02:32:21","slug":"from-the-joys-of-paradise-sexual-intercourse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bakkah.net\/en\/from-the-joys-of-paradise-sexual-intercourse.htm","title":{"rendered":"From the Joys of Paradise: Sexual Intercourse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>In the Name of Allaah, the Most Merciful, the Ever Merciful&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Allaah, the Most Generous, has promised His believing servants many different rewards in His expansive gardens of Paradise.\u00a0 Aside from the greatest joy of all, looking at our Magnificent Creator, the residents of Paradise will indulge in\u00a0various foods an drinks, to the large homes, rivers of pure water, honey, milk, and wine, to the beautiful virgin girls awaiting the personal enjoyment of the men.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deviant Modernists\u00a0Second Guess Allaah&#8217;s Divine Wisdom<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recently, philosophical attempts have been made to rationalize\u00a0some of these rewards and\u00a0second guess the Divine decree of Allaah, as\u00a0deviants begin\u00a0picking and choosing what\u00a0is acceptable from\u00a0Allaah&#8217;s perfect Wisdom and what is not. Some people &#8211; affected by\u00a0a Christian understanding of the Hereafter &#8211; have actually begun denying some of the things promised by Allaah in His Book and explained in detail by the\u00a0Messenger of Allaah (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace), like\u00a0continual acts of sexual intercourse with the <em>hoor &#8216;een<\/em> (pure virgin maidens) of Paradise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christian Influence<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0both modern and ancient\u00a0Christian misconceptions\u00a0revolving around the &#8220;dirty&#8221; and &#8220;disgraceful&#8221; nature of legal sexual intercourse, they believe that it is not\u00a0the ambition of an upright person.\u00a0Based on this, they exonerate their religious leaders above such a lowly concept in this life, and they\u00a0reject the\u00a0&#8220;repulsive&#8221; concept of sexual pleasures in Paradise.\u00a0 In the Hereafter, they deny any type of sexual intercourse, claiming that Paradise is a &#8220;pure place&#8221; above such<!--more--> animalistic notions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Islam Recognizes Human Nature<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Islam, on the other hand,\u00a0is balanced.\u00a0Our\u00a0Lord has\u00a0created us with instincts and inclinations.\u00a0He has not forbidden\u00a0people from enjoying themselves\u00a0in legal intercourse with their spouses in this life, nor has He attached any blame to them for that.\u00a0He has forbidden\u00a0harmful\u00a0acts of transgression like fornication, adultery, and homosexuality, yet He has\u00a0allowed even the most pious of His servants to indulge in sexual intercourse with their spouses, with no harm or blame associated with that.<\/p>\n<p>In the Hereafter, Allaah has prepared gardens of delight, with sexual partners waiting for the believers.\u00a0\u00a0Women will enjoy the very best and most pleasing acts of sexual intercourse with their handsomely attractive husbands, at the peak of their youth and vigor.\u00a0 Men will enjoy their wives from this life, in addition to the many voluptuous <em>hoor &#8216;een<\/em> (pure virgins) awaiting them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sex in Paradise<\/strong> <strong>= Tabloid Mentality?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0repeated pleasures of sexual intercourse in Paradise\u00a0is not a &#8220;filthy idea&#8221; or a &#8220;tabloid&#8221; concept, nor\u00a0is it to be mocked or ridiculed, as the non-Muslims may often do.\u00a0 Allaah, the Most Wise, calls the believers to Paradise by mentioning descriptions of the beautiful women awaiting them in Paradise.\u00a0The\u00a0belief in\u00a0ongoing, continuous acts of absolutely joyful sexual intercourse in Paradise is something\u00a0that the entire body of Muslims (scholars and laymen)\u00a0have always\u00a0held as unquestionable.<\/p>\n<p>By Allaah&#8217;s Permission, this short article provides clear proof of this from Islamic textual evidences, in order to aid those who have been affected by popular speakers who seem to be specialists in opposing the<em> ijmaa&#8217;<\/em> (scholarly consensus) of the whole Muslim <em>ummah <\/em>and leading the Muslims into confusion and misguidance!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Authentic\u00a0Texts on the Topic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In fact, there are many Prophetic narrations from a number of Companions that clearly and\u00a0unequivicolly affirm\u00a0the concept of sexual intercourse in Paradise.\u00a0The following collection of hadeeths\u00a0and narrations of the Companions and early\u00a0scholars of Islam proves this fact with abundant clarity.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\"><strong>-1- <\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Anas ibn Maalik<\/strong><\/span> (may Allaah be pleased with him) narrated that the\u00a0Messenger of Allaah (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace) said:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u064a\u064f\u0639\u0652\u0637\u064e\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u064f\u0624\u0652\u0645\u0650\u0646\u064f \u0641\u0650\u064a \u0627\u0644\u062c\u064e\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0642\u064f\u0648\u0651\u064e\u0629\u064e \u0643\u064e\u0630\u064e\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0643\u064e\u0630\u064e\u0627 \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u062c\u0650\u0645\u064e\u0627\u0639\u0650<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8220;A believer in Paradise will be given the stamina to have sexual intercourse\u00a0such-and-such <\/strong>(number of times)<strong>.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anas said, &#8220;O Messenger\u00a0of Allaah! (How) will he have the ability to do so?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He replied:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u064a\u064f\u0639\u0652\u0637\u064e\u0649 \u0642\u064f\u0648\u0651\u064e\u0629\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0627\u0626\u064e\u0629\u064d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8220;He will be given the stamina of one hundred <\/strong>(men)<strong>.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Collected by at-Tirmithee (#2536) and others. At-Tirmithee authenticated it, as did Ibn al-Qayyim in <em>Haadee al-Arwaah<\/em> (p.232) and Al-Albaanee.\u00a0 At-Tirmithee entitled the chapter: <em>&#8220;What Has Been Reported About the Sexual Intercourse of the People\u00a0in Paradise.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\"><strong>-2-\u00a0\u00a0Zayd ibn Arqam<\/strong><\/span> (may Allaah be pleased with him) narrated that\u00a0a Jew came to the Prophet (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace) and said, &#8220;O Abal-Qaasim! Surely, one of them will have the stamina of a hundred men with regards to eating, drinking, desires, and sexual intercourse.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was collected by Ahmad (4\/367, 371)\u00a0and others with an authentic chain. Ibn al-Qayyim\u00a0authenticated\u00a0it in <em>Haadee al-Arwaah<\/em> (p.187), as did Al-Albaanee in <em>Saheeh at-Targheeb<\/em> (#3739).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\"><strong>-3-\u00a0 Aboo Hurayrah<\/strong><\/span> (may Allaah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace), &#8220;O Messenger of Allaah! Are we going to approach our wives (for sex) in Paradise?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He replied:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0625\u0650\u064a \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0630\u0650\u064a \u0646\u064e\u0641\u0652\u0633\u0650\u064a \u0628\u0650\u064a\u064e\u062f\u0650\u0647\u0650\u060c \u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0651\u064e\u062c\u064f\u0644\u064e \u0644\u064e\u064a\u064f\u0641\u0652\u0636\u0650\u064a \u0641\u0650\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0652\u063a\u064e\u062f\u064e\u0627\u0629\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0648\u064e\u0627\u062d\u0650\u062f\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u0649 \u0645\u0650\u0627\u0626\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0639\u064e\u0630\u0652\u0631\u064e\u0627\u0621\u064e<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8220;Yes, <\/strong>(I swear)<strong> by the One in whose Hand is my soul!\u00a0 Surely a man will approach one hundred virgins in a single afternoon!&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was collected by at-Tabaraanee in <em>al-Mu&#8217;jam al-Awsat<\/em> (#718).\u00a0 ad-Dhiyaa&#8217; al-Maqdisee authenticated it according to the standards of Muslim, as quoted in <em>It-haaf al-Jamaa&#8217;ah<\/em> (3\/268) of at-Tuwayjiree.<\/p>\n<p>Some scholars mention that this narration is more correctly attributed to Ibn &#8216;Abbaas, not Aboo Hurayrah. Refer to al-<em>&#8216;Ilal al-Waaridah <\/em>of\u00a0ad-Daaraqutnee (10\/30).<\/p>\n<p>In another version of Aboo Hurayrah&#8217;s narration:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0646\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0645\u0652 \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0630\u0650\u064a \u0646\u064e\u0641\u0652\u0633\u0650\u064a \u0628\u0650\u064a\u064e\u062f\u0650\u0647\u0650 \u062f\u064e\u062d\u0652\u0645\u0627\u064b \u062f\u064e\u062d\u0652\u0645\u0627\u064b\u061b \u0641\u064e\u0625\u0650\u0630\u064e\u0627 \u0642\u064e\u0627\u0645\u064e \u0639\u064e\u0646\u0652\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0631\u064e\u062c\u064e\u0639\u064e\u062a\u0652 \u0645\u064f\u0637\u064e\u0647\u0651\u064e\u0631\u064e\u0629\u064b \u0628\u0650\u0643\u0652\u0631\u064b\u0627<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8220;Yes,<\/strong> (I swear)<strong> by the One in whose Hand is my soul, orgasm after orgasm; and when he gets up, she returns to being a pure virgin.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This version was authenticated by al-Albaanee in<em> Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah<\/em> (#3351).<\/p>\n<p>In another version collected by Is-haaq ibn Raahawayh\u00a0(#345) and\u00a0al-Bazzaar (16\/243) in their <em>Musnads<\/em>:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0646\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0645\u0652\u060c \u0628\u0650\u0630\u064e\u0643\u064e\u0631\u064d \u0644\u064e\u0627 \u064a\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064f\u060c \u0648\u064e\u0641\u064e\u0631\u0652\u062c\u064d \u0644\u064e\u0627 \u064a\u064f\u062c\u0652\u0641\u064e\u0627\u060c \u0648\u064e\u0634\u064e\u0647\u0652\u0648\u064e\u0629\u064d \u0644\u064e\u0627 \u062a\u064e\u0646\u0652\u0642\u064e\u0637\u0650\u0639\u064f<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8220;Yes, with a penis that does not tire, a vagina that does not dry up, and a desire that does not cease.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Al-Bazzaar mentions that this\u00a0version is <strong>not authentic, <\/strong>as does al-Haythamee in <em>Majma&#8217; az-Zawaa&#8217;id<\/em> (10\/417).\u00a0 However, it can be supported by the generality of these narrations, as well as the\u00a0upcoming narration of\u00a0Aboo Umaamah\u00a0specifically.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\"><strong>-4-\u00a0 Ibn &#8216;Abbaas<\/strong><\/span> (may Allaah be pleased with him) is also reported to have narrated the previous hadeeth about one hundred virgins in one afternoon, as mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>It was collected by Aboo Ya&#8217;laa in his <em>Musnad<\/em> (#2436).\u00a0This report\u00a0appears to have a <strong>weak<\/strong> (unauthentic) chain of narration.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\"><strong>-5-\u00a0 Aboo Umaamah<\/strong><\/span> (may Allaah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace) was asked if the people of Paradise will indulge in sexual intercourse, and he replied:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0646\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0645\u0652\u060c \u0628\u0650\u0630\u064e\u0643\u064e\u0631\u064d \u0644\u064e\u0627 \u064a\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064f\u060c \u0648\u064e\u0634\u064e\u0647\u0652\u0648\u064e\u0629\u064d \u0644\u064e\u0627 \u062a\u064e\u0646\u0652\u0642\u064e\u0637\u0650\u0639\u064f \u062f\u064f\u062d\u0652\u0645\u064b\u0627 \u062f\u064f\u062d\u0652\u0645\u064b\u0627<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8220;Yes,\u00a0with a penis that does not tire and\u00a0desires that do not cease, orgasm after orgasm!&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was collected by at-Tabaraanee in his <em>al-Mu&#8217;jam al-Kabeer<\/em> (8\/160, 172) and others. Although its chain is weak,\u00a0Al-Albaanee authenticated it based on support from other narrations\u00a0in <em>Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah<\/em> (7\/1062).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\"><strong>-6-<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<strong>The scholars of Tafseer<\/strong><\/span> (Quranic Exegesis),\u00a0beginning with the Companions, like &#8216;Abdullaah ibn &#8216;Abbaas and &#8216;Abdullaah ibn\u00a0Mas&#8217;ood, and the Taabi&#8217;oon and later scholars, the likes of\u00a0Sa&#8217;eed ibn al-Musayyab, &#8216;Ikrimah, al-Hasan al-Basree,\u00a0Qataadah, and many others,\u00a0have explained the following Verse:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0625\u0650\u0646\u0651\u064e \u0623\u064e\u0635\u0652\u062d\u0627\u0628\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0652\u062c\u064e\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u064a\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0645\u064e \u0641\u0650\u064a \u0634\u064f\u063a\u064f\u0644\u064d \u0641\u0627\u0643\u0650\u0647\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>( Verily, the people of Paradise that Day shall be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>occupied<\/em><\/span>,\u00a0rejoicing ) [36:55]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They said:<em> &#8220;<strong>Occupied<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0taking the virginity of virgins (through sexual intercourse).&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong><em> Tafseer Ibn Katheer<\/em> (36:55).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\"><strong>-7-\u00a0 The four well-known imaams<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; Aboo Haneefah, Maalik, ash-Shaafi&#8217;ee, and Ahmad (may Allaah have Mercy on all of them) &#8211; all\u00a0held the position that the people of Paradise will\u00a0enjoy sexual intercouse from the many joys of Paradise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong> <em>Manaazil al-A&#8217;immat al-Arba&#8217;ah<\/em> (p.126) of al-Waa&#8217;ith Aboo Zakariyyaa as-Salamaasee (d.550). <em>(Note:<\/em> <em>This book was one of the first books ever written to identify the points of belief agreed upon by the four imaams.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003300;\"><strong>-8-\u00a0 The entire body of the scholars of the Salaf<\/strong><\/span> unanimously agreed that the people of Paradise will indulge in sexual intercourse.
