{"id":2386,"date":"2012-09-22T10:10:50","date_gmt":"2012-09-22T10:10:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bakkah.net\/en\/?p=2386"},"modified":"2020-10-04T12:24:49","modified_gmt":"2020-10-04T16:24:49","slug":"the-saudi-national-day-is-bidah-blameworthy-innovation-and-an-imitation-of-the-non-muslims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bakkah.net\/en\/the-saudi-national-day-is-bidah-blameworthy-innovation-and-an-imitation-of-the-non-muslims.htm","title":{"rendered":"The &#8220;National Day&#8221; is Bid&#8217;ah (Blameworthy Innovation) and an Imitation of the Non-Muslims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>In the Name of Allaah, the Ever-Merciful&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The National Day<\/strong>, or <strong><em>&#8220;al-Yowm al-Watanee&#8221;,<\/em><\/strong> widely celebrated in\u00a0the various Muslim\u00a0countries\u00a0as\u00a0a national holiday, is a<em><strong> bid&#8217;ah<\/strong><\/em> (blameworthy\u00a0innovation) in Islam and an impermissible\u00a0act of <strong>imitating the non-Muslims<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As collected in the two <em>Saheehs<\/em> of al-Bukhaaree and Muslim, the Prophet (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace) said:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u0645\u0646 \u0623\u062d\u062f\u062b \u0641\u064a \u0623\u0645\u0631\u0646\u0627 \u0647\u0630\u0627 \u0645\u0627 \u0644\u064a\u0633 \u0645\u0646\u0647 \u0641\u0647\u0648 \u0631\u062f<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8220;Whoever introduces something into this affair of ours <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">(Islaam)<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"> that which is not part of it shall have it rejected.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And he said:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u0645\u0646 \u062a\u0634\u0628\u0647 \u0628\u0642\u0648\u0645 \u0641\u0647\u0648 \u0645\u0646\u0647\u0645<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>&#8220;Whoever imitates a people is from them.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The scholars<!--more--> have always spoken openly about this.\u00a0 One clear\u00a0example would be Shaykh &#8216;Abdul-&#8216;Azeez ibn Baaz and Shaykh &#8216;Abdur-Razzaaq\u00a0&#8216;Afeefee and their open <em>fatwaa<\/em>, published in the\u00a0Permanent Committee&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Collection of Fatwaas<\/em> (3\/86-89), about the observance of this day in their own country.<\/p>\n<p>Since Shaykh &#8216;Abdur-Razzaaq &#8216;Afeefee (may Allaah have Mercy on him) passed away in the year 1415, we know this <em>fatwaa<\/em> was issued at least 18 years ago.\u00a0 Furthermore, it\u00a0remains in circulation through printings and reprintings of the collection of <em>fatwaas<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Benefit:<\/strong> The real scholars of Islam\u00a0do not take advantage of the\u00a0mistakes or sins\u00a0of the rulers to call to\u00a0rebellion\u00a0against them, directly or indirectly, as is the case with many political activists who may be incorrectly referred to as scholars by the common people, TV stations, newspapers, etc. The scholars actively speak against open violations of the <em>Sharee&#8217;ah<\/em>, while reminding the Muslim masses\u00a0to remain supportive of their leaders and obedient to them\u00a0in all permissible affairs.<\/p>\n<p>If the senior scholars, like Shaykh\u00a0Ibn Baaz (may Allaah have Mercy on him),\u00a0were really<strong>\u00a0&#8220;scholars for dollars&#8221;<\/strong> as many ignorant people claim, then how could they issue such a<em> fatwaa<\/em>?\u00a0 And where is the censure of this <em>fatwaa<\/em> from the other &#8220;scholars for dollars&#8221; who would endorse everything done by the rulers, as some claim?!<\/p>\n<p>This is just another example that shows that these words of blame cast upon our great scholars have <strong>no basis<\/strong> at all, and in fact they are just part of a larger plot to turn the Muslims away from their most knowldgeable scholars, and mislead them into the hands of propped up political activists who will only harm them.<\/p>\n<p>And all praises are due to Allaah, the One who grants success and understanding in the Religion to whomever He pleases.\u00a0 May He raise the rank of his Messenger and grant him peace.<\/p>\n<p><em>Written by:<\/em> Moosaa Richardson<\/p>\n<p><em>Edited: 10\/1\/2012\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the Name of Allaah, the Ever-Merciful&#8230; The National Day, or &#8220;al-Yowm al-Watanee&#8221;, widely celebrated in\u00a0the various Muslim\u00a0countries\u00a0as\u00a0a national holiday, is a bid&#8217;ah (blameworthy\u00a0innovation) in Islam and an impermissible\u00a0act of imitating the non-Muslims.
