Can you tell me if the following hadeeth is authentic?\u00a0 ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Aamir narrates that the Prophet (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace)\u00a0said, “You have the olive oil from this Holy (mubaarak) tree, treat yourself with this, since it cures the Anal fissure (Basoor).”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is not<\/strong> a hadeeth from the Prophet (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace).\u00a0 Rather it\u00a0is mowdhoo’<\/strong><\/em> (fabricated, invented).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0It was collected by at-Tabaraanee in\u00a0al-Mu’jam al-Kabeer<\/em> (17\/281),\u00a0as follows:<\/p>\n

\n“Yahyaa ibn ‘Uthmaan ibn Saalih narrated from his father that Ibn Lahee’ah narrated from Yazeed ibn Abee Habeeb, from Abul-Khayr, from ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Aamir, who narrated from the Messenger of Allaah (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace), who said, “Use this blessed tree – the olive oil (from it), and treat yourselves with it, as it cures al-baasoor<\/em>.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some older older manuscripts of hadeeth have the word “an-naasoor<\/em>” instead of “al-baasoor<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

An-Naasoor<\/em>:<\/strong> Fistula\u00a0– an abnormal connection or passageway between two organs or vessels that normally do not connect.\u00a0 It may appear as a lump in the stomach or other areas.<\/p>\n

Al-Baasoor<\/em>:<\/strong> Hemorrhoids<\/p>\n

Whatever the wording, the narration is a lie<\/strong>, as identified by the great imaam of hadeeth and thier hidden defects, Aboo Haatim ar-Raazee, in his son’s book on hadeeth defects, as quoted in al-Haafith al-Haythamee’s Majma’ az-Zawaa’id<\/em> (5\/100).<\/p>\n

You may also refer to a detailed\u00a0study of the hadeeth done by Shaykh Al-Albaanee in his amazing work,\u00a0Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth adh-Dha’eefah<\/em> (no.194).\u00a0 His conclusion was that the\u00a0narration\u00a0is a lie.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Additional benefit:<\/strong> Al-Haythamee mentions a similar report attributed to the Messenger of Allaah (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace):<\/p>\n

\n“Clean yourselves (after using the bathroom) with cold water, since it cures hemorrhoids.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

This narration is dha’eef jiddan<\/em><\/strong> (extremely weak).\u00a0 It was collected by at-Tabaraanee in\u00a0al-Mu’jam al-Awsat<\/em>, supposedly from the report of ‘Aa’ishah.\u00a0 Al-Haythamee said (5\/100), “‘Ammaar ibn Haaroon is in the chain, and he was abandoned.”<\/p>\n
