Whoever says it twice Allah will free half of him from the fire.\u00a0 Whoever says it three times Allah will free three quarters if him from the fire. Whoever says it four times Allah will free him from the fire (completely).&#8221;\u00a0At-Tirmidhi transmitted it saying, &#8220;This is a Hasan hadeeth.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At-Tirmithee collected it in his <em>Jaami&#8217;<\/em> (#3501) and called it <em>ghareeb<\/em> (strange), not <em>hasan<\/em> as mentioned in the question.\u00a0A hadeeth is usually <em>dha&#8217;eef<\/em> (weak, unauthentic)\u00a0when At-Tirmithee says it is <em>ghareeb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Aboo Daawood also collected it in his <em>Sunan<\/em> (#5078).<\/p>\n<p>It was graded <em>hasan<\/em> by al-Munthiree in <em>at-Targheeb wat-Tarheeb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It was called &#8220;<em>hasan-saheeh<\/em>&#8221; by Ibn Taymiyyah in <em>al-Kalim at-Tayyib<\/em> (his <em>du&#8217;aa&#8217;<\/em> collection).<\/p>\n<p>Al-Albaanee refutes this in <em>Silsilatul-Ahaadeethid-Dha&#8217;eefah<\/em> (#1041) in detail, showing the weaknesses of both chains of this hadeeth and how they can not be used to strengthen each other. This argument is convincing, and seems to be what is most correct about this hadeeth.
