Answer: The name of the book: Al-Jaami'us-Saheehul-Musnad min Hadeethi Rasoolillaahi (sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) wa Sunanihi wa Ayyaamihi, and he died in the year 256. (From an article here on bakkah.net)

According to a hadeeth in Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim, the Jews said to 'Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him), "You people recite a verse in your Book - if that verse would have been revealed to us, we would have taken that day as a holiday!"

What verse was that? And when and where was it revealed?

Answer: It is the third verse of Soorah Al-Maa'idah, ( This day I have perfected for your Religion... ) and it was revealed to the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) on the Day of 'Arafah on the Mountain of 'Arafah, during the Farewell Pilgrimage.
