QUESTION

How does a sick person who prays sitting down make rukoo' and sujood?

ANSWER by Shaykh Wasee Allaah 'Abbaas, lecturer at the Ka'bah, instructor at Umm Al-Quraa University in Makkah

If a sick person is able to pray sitting, then he makes his rukoo' by leaning forward, and his sujood on the ground if he is able. If he is not able to do that, then he leans forward for sujood as well, but he leans over more for sujood than rukoo'.

If he is not able to make sujood on the ground, then he does not raise up a pillow, a piece of wood, or anything else to prostrate on, rather he only leans forward.
